Sarita connects with a diverse range of cultures and industries as a choreographer and movement director following the success of over 20 years in the dance profession. She is an associate creative director and choreographer for Union Dance working on arts projects in theatre, film and in the education programme. Independently she choreographed for the British musical film ‘Been So Long’ due for release 2018, starring BAFTA award winning actor Michaela Cole. Other works include Choreography and Movement Direction for Manoto TV, London theatre productions 'Awa’s Journey' (Arcola Theatre), Resolution ‘Glimpses’ (The Place Theatre), 'Anything Goes' musical (Hackney Empire), live performance for composer Tokio Myers, Union Dance film 'Nino’s Dimension', and feature film ‘Louder than Words’ by Dann Emmons. Most recently she was the Assistant Movement Director for the acclaimed production 'Nine Night' at The National Theatre and continues to focus on movement for screen whilst her work expands across the corporate, media, commercial and music industry.
Sarita's work draws from her established performance artistry. With an impressive credit list specialising in contemporary dance, having performed for the likes of Wayne McGregor, Javier De Frutos and Russell Maliphant. In the commercial industry she has performed various dance genres for artists such as Will.i.am, Take That (The Circus tour), Petshop Boys and Cheryl Cole, to name but a few. With many high profile jobs under her belt as a freelance dancer, she has also performed acting roles for the renowned Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and as Jhiqui on Game of Thrones TV series.
Sarita trained for five years at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and established her professional career for seven years as a resident dancer for leading British contemporary dance companies Random, Henri Oguike and The National Dance Company of Wales.
